Formmail allows people to contact your email address without them knowing what your email address is. If you don't use formmail, then you need to place your email address where bots can harvest said email - and that means tons of SPAM, forever! Never, ever, put your email address on your website - it's just plain stupid.
When you get a website built, you can have a dynamic website or a static website. Static websites don't need ANY maintainence and are impossible to hack. They also load quicker, giving a much better user experience. They can be hosted with the cheapest hosting package and take up very little space.
